396 years ago today, the world lost Shakespeare – these are some of the surprising things he left behind. Also see this list of modern phrases we owe to Shakespeare.
This is a couple days late but I love me some Shakespeare.

Style begins with the people passing through one’s life, the harbingers we push against and the stylemakers we want to clone. Some are famous, some not. Style grows from admiration, from longing, from discrimination—and, yes, from love. It’s all the places you’ve been to and the people and the moments you’ve known: the parts you’ve adopted, to keep forever, and transformed. We wear our history in our hearts and on our backs.

Today was a lovely day. I bought some ingredients for baking, had a bacon cheeseburger and fries for dinner FOR FREE, and I got a package from my lovely Tumblr Buddy.
TB sent me a fantastic Easter present complete with jelly beans, a Peeps rice krispy treat (I did not know these existed and I cannot wait to eat it), and adorable striped socks in Spring colors!
It is quite an achievement that the candy didn’t get eaten before this picture was taken. Thank you thank you TB!
I also got free dinner for volunteering all semester in an income tax assistance program. However, not only did I get a delicious bacon cheeseburger (and yes, I ate all of it), but I also got a certificate from the IRS, a flashlight, key-chain, and water-bottle-key-chain-clip thing.
Lemme tell ya, I love me some swag. Especially when it’s pink. Happy Wednesday all.

Lows:
- Embarrassed twice by professors.
- Problems with housing and funding for my summer fellowship.
- Had a breakdown in the library.
- Finals are coming.
Highs:
- Saw “The Hunger Games,” still on Team Peeta.
- Lived through a tornado (but seriously, I did).
- Defeated my boyfriend yet again on “Dance Central.”
- Ate lots of french fries and chocolate.
- Bought new flip-flops.
Thankfully, the highs outnumber the lows. Also, I have already had a Monday breakdown, but thanks to my very wise and wonderful mother and some sweet tea from Chik-fil-a, I am recovering nicely. Bring it on, finals and miscellaneous papers, bring it on.

But tomorrow, dawn will come the way I picture her, barefoot and disheveled, standing outside my window in one of the fragile cotton dresses of the poor. She will look in at me with her thin arms extended, offering a handful of birdsong and a small cup of light.
Nine year old Caine Monroy made a super-detailed cardboard arcade in his dad’s used auto part store. His first customer happened to be filmmaker Nirvan Mullick, who was inspired by Caine’s inventiveness and decided to get Caine a flashmob of customers one Sunday. This is a film about that day.
We loved this video immediately. And when the video ends, it’s always good when the kid says, “I want to see it again.” If you’re inspired by Caine and his cardboard arcade, too, you can follow @cainesarcade on Twitter and visit CainesArcade.com to donate to his college fund (which is happily climbing)!!
